BruxZir® Solid Zirconium is a monolithic zirconium crown, bridge, screw-retained implant crown, inlay or overlay with no porcelain veneer. First launched as “More Brawn Than Beauty,” the material was originally intended to provide a durable and more esthetic alternative to metal posterior occlusal PFMs or cast gold restorations for demanding situations such as bruxers, implant restorations and areas with limited occlusal space. Now, thanks to the new BruxZir Shaded formulation, BruxZir restorations exhibit improved translucency and shade similar to natural dentition, making them a restorative option in the anterior as well. The complete penetration of the shade through the restorations ensures greater shade consistency and avoids any shade shift after occlusal adjustment.

The porcelain – metal crown takes advantage of the best of both materials. The metal provides a strong base and tooth – colored porcelain offers a pleasing esthetic natural look. A porcelain – metal crown often requires more of the tooth removed for the crown to fit properly. It can also look fairly natural if the edge of the crown is below the gum line. Sometimes, however, a small silver line on the bottom of the metal base is exposed causing an unsightly crown line.

A crown can be made of tooth-like pure porcelain or composite material. A porcelain crown has the look in both color and translucency and the feel of a natural tooth. A pure porcelain or composite crown is not indicated in certain areas or in certain patients.

They are removable partial dentures, which are supported in the buccal mucosa, they replace the missing teeth, they are made of rigid acrylic.
