What are dental implants?

They are small devices that are similar in shape to a screw. They are coated with a Bio-Compatible layer with the DNA of the human body, which makes them a technological marvel.
The technique for their placement consists of inserting them into the bone, to later add an abutment that will serve to mount a prosthesis (ceramic crown) on it, leaving the implant invisible.
The procedure is so simple that it only requires local anesthesia.
We perform your treatment using state-of-the-art technology (NobelClinician) to provide you with greater safety and comfort during your treatment, achieving the smile you desire.
The “NOBELCLINICIAN” system consists in planning your treatment by computer, placing the implants virtually, allowing us to perform a risk-free surgery with great predictability.
The dental implants are the best option to replace one, several or the loss of all teeth, these advantages are described below.

Advantages of implant treatment vs. conventional bridges

-There is no need to wear down the teeth adjacent to the missing tooth space.
-Looks just like a natural tooth
-Prevents wear of the dental support (jawbone), which is the main factor that affects the teeth adjacent to the missing tooth.
-Prevents mobility of the teeth adjacent to the missing tooth, avoiding an improper bite, which can cause irregular wear of the teeth, jaw joint disease, (which in turn causes headaches and earaches).
-Easier interdental hygiene.
-Greater durability
Lower long-term cost

Advantages of computer-guided treatment

-Use of “cad-desing” technology to get a 3D view of your jaw anatomy.
-It is much more precise than conventional surgery.
Possibility of using “scalpel-free” technique.
-And great possibility of inserting a definitive porcelain or temporary restoration in a single appointment.

Nobel Biocare Implants

This implant has unique characteristics that make it indispensable in some special situations: extremely soft bone, immediate loading, post-extraction implants.

They have the small disadvantage of being very sensitive implants to the technique used and can only be placed by very experienced professionals.

The characteristics that make them special are:

  1. unique design, self-tapping apex in reverse direction, inverted cone-shaped coronal region, conical body acting as osteotome, apical drill blades.
  2. Internal connection that enhances posterior prosthetic solutions.
  3. TiUnite surface and Groovy notches. The surface treatment of these implants also improves and stimulates bone regeneration around the implant and allows to shorten and improve working times.

All on 4

It is a cost-effective graftless solution that provides patients with a full-arch fixed prosthesis on the day of surgery.

Features include:

  • Full-arch rehabilitation with only four implants.
Two straight implants in the anterior and two implants tilted up to 45° in the posterior
  • Immediate function (fixed provisional bridge)
For patients who meet the requirements for immediately loaded implants
  • Graftless procedure
Bone grafting is avoided by tilting the posterior implants using the available bone.

Computer-guided surgery

Computer-guided surgery is a good planning tool in implant surgery cases. However, not all patients can be operated by this technique.

This type of surgery allows the implants to be placed virtually in the computer before the operation is performed. Using an oral scanner, we obtain a three-dimensional image of the patient’s jawbone. When the data from the study are entered into the computer, the navigation software generates two- and three-dimensional reconstructions of the patient’s mouth. At that moment, we perform a simulated operation, which allows us to place the implants in the optimal position to achieve optimal esthetics and function.

Advantages:

-Use of “cad-desing” technology achieving a 3d vision of your maxillary anatomy.

-It is much more precise than conventional surgery.

-Possibility of using “no scalpel” technique and great possibility of inserting a definitive porcelain or temporary restoration in a single appointment.

Semi removable prosthesis on implants

Semi-fixed prostheses are an intermediate solution between removable and fixed. Underneath, they are still removable prostheses, but with a higher level of light stability.

“Semi-fixed prostheses can be applied over locators or Ackermann bars.”

They are also called overdentures and are usually applied with the aid of locators. In simple terms, what happens is what is applied to the prosthetic parts that subsequently fits like a spring into the parts that are screwed to the implants. Depending on the case, overdentures can also be applied with the help of an Ackermann bar, for example.
