Full Mouth Rehabilitation in Tijuana

Oral Rehabilitation

Full Mouth Rehabilitation

When wear, loss or years of patchwork have compromised the bite, the whole system is rebuilt at Makeover Dental Studio — function, comfort and appearance together.

Full mouth rehabilitation, also called full mouth reconstruction, full mouth restoration or bite reconstruction, is what happens when the problem is no longer any single tooth.

Years of grinding, old restorations replaced piecemeal, teeth lost and never replaced: each of those changes how the jaw closes. Treating teeth one at a time inside a collapsed bite reproduces the same failure on a new surface, which is why the crowns keep breaking and nobody can quite say why.

The work starts from the bite. Where the jaw should close, how much vertical height has been lost, which teeth are restorable and which are not — and only then, what each tooth needs. It is the most complex work in dentistry, and it is the reason this practice is organized around specialists rather than one dentist doing a little of everything.

Rebuilding in the right order

Diagnosis of the whole system

Joints, muscles, bite records and imaging, before a single tooth is discussed. The plan is built on where the jaw should close.

Foundation before restoration

Periodontal stability, endodontics and implant sites are resolved first. Nothing durable is built on ground that is still moving.

Tested before it is definitive

The new bite is worn in provisionals and adjusted while adjustment is still cheap. The definitive restorations copy what already worked.

How long does a full mouth case take?

It is measured in phases rather than appointments — foundation work, provisional phase, definitive restorations — and the sequence is written out before it begins so you know what each stage depends on.

Do all my teeth need crowns?

No. A rehabilitation is not a set of crowns applied to everything. Some teeth need full coverage, others need a partial restoration, orthodontic movement, or nothing at all.

Before & After

Rehabilitation cases are recorded as a sequence rather than a pair of photographs: initial condition, bite records, the provisional phase and the definitive result. Seen together they show a bite being rebuilt, which is the part a smile photograph leaves out.

Frequently asked

What patients ask before they book. If yours is not here, the fastest answer is a call.

Because a new bite has to be lived in. Chewing, speaking and sleeping with it reveals what a model cannot, and changes made at that stage cost nothing compared with changes made afterwards.

Yes, and it is planned that way from the start: longer appointments grouped into fewer visits, with remote review in between. What cannot be compressed is the healing time between phases.

No. A smile makeover addresses appearance. A rehabilitation addresses how the jaw closes, and appearance is one of its outcomes rather than its purpose.

Cases like this begin with someone reading everything that is already in your mouth.

Which of the previous work can stay, what failed, and whether the reason it failed has been addressed — those come before any plan. From there the case has one owner.

Complex cases deserve a diagnosis before a proposal. What you should leave the first appointment with is an understanding of what your bite is doing, and a plan written in phases.
