All-on-6 Dental Implants
Six implants instead of four — more contact with bone, and support carried further back along the arch.
The principle is the same as All-on-4: a fixed bridge carried by implants rather than by gum tissue — here backed by premium systems from Straumann, Nobel Biocare and Hiossen. What changes is how the force of chewing is distributed across the arch.
Six points of support mean each implant carries less of the load, and the bridge can extend further back, where the strongest forces are generated. For a patient with a heavy bite, or one who grinds, that distribution is not a refinement — it is the reason the restoration holds.
Six also asks more of your anatomy. There has to be bone volume in more places to receive them, and in the upper jaw that is not always available without grafting first. Imaging decides it, not preference.
Who performs an All-on-6
Dr. Rafael Cortés Álvarez, Director of Makeover Dental Studio, is a pioneer of guided implant surgery in Baja: in 2006 he placed the region’s first All-on-6 case using NobelGuide 3D technology, and he has worked with Nobel Biocare for the nineteen uninterrupted years since. He graduated from the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California and holds a diploma from Loma Linda University. His work carries the imprint of two lineages: the direct mentorship of Professor Dr. Alan Kleiman, a pioneer in modern implant research, and the advanced protocols of Dr. Sascha Jovanovic’s continuing-education system, which he keeps refining alongside faculty from the world’s leading implant programs. That is what mentorship passes down, case by case — and it is the method behind the plan presented to you. Cédula profesional 5933630.
Where a surgeon learned matters more than it sounds. Guided implant surgery is a method before it is a technology — how the case is planned, when bone has to be built first, and when the honest answer is that today is not the day to place an implant.
That first case in 2006 was this treatment, which is why it carries weight here: nearly two decades of full-arch work have followed it, on arches rather than on the occasional single tooth. What that buys you is not a trophy — it is judgement about where the sixth implant goes in your arch, and whether your case needs six at all.
Expertise on every implant case
Dr. Jorge Maytorena is a leading surgeon on the dental team. He works closely with the DASS protocol (Digitally Assisted Soft tissue Sculpturing) — the digital workflow developed by Dr. Alessandro Pozzi and taught alongside Dr. Lorenzo Arcuri. This cutting-edge technique maps the bone and gum interface on screen before surgery, so the arch placed that same day is shaped to guide how the tissue heals; this allows a finished full-arch case to read as teeth, rather than as pink acrylic. His practice in Baja California focuses on this advanced implantology and complex oral rehabilitation, with an emphasis on precise clinical planning and a comprehensive approach developed during his specialized training at Instituto Alzaga. He completed his foundational studies as a Dental Surgeon at CEUS Universidad, and all implant surgeries are carried out jointly, ensuring that critical decisions always benefit from collaborative professional expertise (Cédula profesional 13741153).

What decides four or six
Bone mapped in three dimensions
Volume, density and the position of the sinus and the nerve are measured before a number is proposed. The scan sets the ceiling on what is possible.
Bite force taken seriously
Grinding, a strong bite and a natural opposing arch all raise the load a bridge has to survive. That assessment changes the plan more often than patients expect.
A recommendation with reasoning
You are shown the imaging that drives the number. When four will serve you as well, that is what you will hear — fewer surgical sites is a benefit, not a downgrade.
Is All-on-6 better than All-on-4?
Not automatically. Six distributes load further back and is often indicated in the upper jaw, where bone is less dense. When six is the right call, the two extra anchor points spread chewing pressure more evenly across the bone — the most robust long-term configuration. And four is not a compromise when arch length, bite and bone volume do not call for more.
Do I need more bone for six implants?
Generally yes, since six implants need adequate bone in more sites. When it is not there, grafting or a sinus lift can make it possible, and sometimes the honest answer is that four placed well is the better plan.
What it costs
Prices in USD. Every plan is confirmed after imaging and clinical evaluation; the written estimate you receive before treatment is the one that applies.
Before & After
Full-arch records run from the diagnostic scan through the definitive bridge, so the comparison includes what a photograph cannot show: where the support was placed and how the load ended up distributed.

What patients say
“Thank you so much for saving the day. I don’t remember the last time I had such a painful toothache. My wisdom teeth were definitely not helping. Thank you for taking me in last second…”
“From the moment I first reached out by email, my experience with Makeover Dental Studio has exceeded every expectation. The clinic itself is state-of-the-art, but what truly sets it apart is the incredible team behind it.”
“I went in there as a walk in and came out a happy customer. Great service and beautiful facility.”
“Very pleased and impressed with the professional service and attention given at this clinic. All of the staff is very attentive. Dr. Erika answered all my questions and concerns, she explained in detail the whole process of my braces…”

No. It is performed under local anesthesia or conscious sedation, so you will not feel pain during it. Afterward, the swelling and minor discomfort are easily managed with the medication we prescribe.
Because six implants instead of four give the bridge more anchor points. That reduces the individual load on each implant and on the bone, which means greater mechanical stability and a wider safety margin under heavy chewing.
All-on-X is the overarching, customized protocol; your 3D CT scan is what tells our specialists which configuration fits you.
All-on-4 (four implants) — a good fit when you have solid bone density at the front of the jaw, or when the priority is an efficient, streamlined recovery with strong long-term support.
All-on-6 (six implants) — adds two extra support points, which distributes biting pressure more evenly. It is often the recommendation for patients with a strong bite, or with advanced bone loss toward the back of the jaw.
This technique makes the most of the bone you still have. But because it needs six points of support, we have to be realistic with you: if your bone loss is extremely advanced or severe, a regeneration treatment may be needed first. We assess your case honestly, with a 3D digital tomography.
It is designed to last for decades, and many do. How long yours lasts depends directly on your consistency: oral hygiene at home, and maintenance and professional cleaning appointments every six months.
We work exclusively with Straumann, Nobel Biocare and Hiossen. We chose these manufacturers because their implants have high-technology surfaces that speed up healing, minimize the risk of rejection, and are widely backed by clinicians internationally.
A fixed provisional is usually placed in the same session, with the definitive bridge fitted after integration is confirmed. Whether same-day loading is appropriate depends on how firmly the implants seat at placement.
The surgical phase and the definitive bridge are separate visits by design, and the interval between them is healing time rather than waiting time. Reviews in between are handled remotely, and the schedule is written out before you commit to it.
It is uncommon, and it is usually detected at a follow-up before you notice anything. With six supports the bridge is not left unsupported while the site is treated.

If you already have recent imaging it is worth sending ahead; if not, it is taken here. What you should leave with is a number of implants, the reason for that number, and a plan you can read.
