Full Mouth Reconstruction
Several disciplines working on one mouth, in one order, under one plan — which is the part that decides whether the result holds.
A full mouth reconstruction is rarely difficult because any single procedure is difficult. It is difficult because periodontics, endodontics, implantology, orthodontics and prosthetics all have to happen in the same mouth, in a specific order, each one leaving the site in the condition the next one needs.
That is where most reconstructions come apart. Work is done well in isolation, referred out, returned months later, and nobody holds the sequence. Gum treatment finishes after the crowns were already prepared. An implant is placed where the bridge design could not use it. Each step was competent and the whole thing still has to be redone.
This practice is organized around specialists rather than one dentist covering everything, and a reconstruction is where that structure earns its keep. The disciplines are in the same building, the case has one plan and one owner, and the handoffs happen in conversation rather than in a referral letter.
One plan, several hands
The sequence written first
Which discipline goes first, what each stage has to deliver to the next, and where the decision points are. The order is agreed before any treatment begins.
Handoffs inside one practice
The periodontist, the endodontist, the implantologist and the prosthodontist review the same records and the same photographs. Nothing is transferred by letter.
One clinician owns the case
A single specialist holds the plan from diagnosis to the definitive restorations, so responsibility for the outcome is never distributed until it belongs to no one.
Where these cases usually come apart
Not in the treatments — in the coordination.
The patient is referred out to several offices and comes back months later, with nobody holding the timeline. Gum treatment gets done after the crowns were already made. An implant is placed where the final bridge cannot use it.
Every step was done competently, and the case still has to be redone.
Why does the order matter so much?
Because every stage builds on the one before it. Restorations placed over untreated gum disease sit on a foundation that is still moving, and the crown gets blamed for a failure that started underneath it. Endodontics done after a tooth has been prepared means preparing it twice. Getting the sequence right is not administrative tidiness — it is the difference between work that lasts and work that has to be repeated, and it is decided before anything is touched.
Who is actually doing the work?
Each discipline is handled by a specialist who works only in that discipline, and one of them holds the overall plan. You should know, before starting, who is performing each phase and who to speak to when something needs adjusting. A reconstruction where that answer is vague is a reconstruction where accountability has already been lost.

Related reading: What Is Full Mouth Rehabilitation? It Is Not a Cosmetic Term
The terms overlap in everyday use. This page describes the coordination — how several disciplines are sequenced into one plan. If your concern is a bite that has collapsed from wear, or a jaw that hurts, those are handled as their own conversations.
Yes, and cross-border cases are planned that way deliberately: longer appointments grouped into fewer visits, remote review between phases. What cannot be compressed is biological healing time between stages.
Often. Sound restorations that fit the new plan are left alone. Replacing everything by default is easier to schedule and harder to justify, and the assessment says which is which.
Because every rehabilitation is highly customized, timelines vary depending on your unique biological needs. A case involving only surface porcelain restorations can often be completed in a few weeks. However, cases requiring orthodontic teeth movement, gum healing, or bone integration for dental implants may take several months to a year. During your initial evaluation, we will map out your exact timeline so you know precisely what to expect at each stage.
Absolutely not. Your cosmetic appearance, speech, and ability to chew are protected throughout the entire journey. We utilize highly durable, meticulously designed provisional (temporary) restorations at every stage of the treatment sequence. These provisionals not only protect your prepared teeth and gums but also serve as a trial run to test the comfort, bite, and aesthetics of your new smile before the final restorations are permanently placed.
A full mouth reconstruction is indicated when issues affect your entire oral system rather than isolated teeth. This includes severe tooth wear from chronic acid reflux or teeth grinding (bruxism), multiple missing teeth, advanced periodontal disease, or a collapsed bite that causes TMJ (jaw) discomfort and facial changes. Through a comprehensive examination using radiographs and digital diagnostic tools, we will show you exactly how your teeth, muscles, and joints are interacting to determine if a full rehabilitation is the right path for you.
Cases like this begin with someone reading everything that is already in your mouth.
Which of the previous work can stay, what failed, and whether the reason it failed has been addressed — those come before any plan. From there the case has one owner.

A reconstruction consultation is a diagnosis and a sequence, not a quotation. What you should leave with is the order of the work, who performs each phase, and what each stage depends on.
