Patient Testimonials

A review is worth exactly as much as its independence. Which is why the ones worth reading are not the ones a practice writes about itself.

Testimonials selected by a practice answer a narrower question than they appear to. They tell you what a satisfied patient sounds like, not how often patients are satisfied. The second question is the one that brought you to this page, and only a platform the practice does not control can answer it.

So this page does something unusual for a testimonials page: it sends you somewhere else. Makeover Dental Studio has 479 reviews on Google and an average of 4.9 out of 5. What follows is the whole picture — every star rating including the ones that are not flattering, four excerpts quoted exactly as they were written, and a link to read all of them at the source.

Nothing here is scripted or incentivized. Patients are asked for feedback, not for a rating.

Six people rated this practice one star. They are on this page for exactly the same reason the other four hundred and seventy are: a review page with no unhappy patients on it has been curated, not collected. Their reviews sit in the same place as the rest, unedited.

In their own words

Four excerpts, quoted exactly as they were written — spelling, punctuation and all — each one linked to the profile it came from.

From the moment I first reached out by email, my experience with Makeover Dental Studio has exceeded every expectation. The clinic itself is state-of-the-art, but what truly sets it apart is the incredible team behind it.

Thank you so much for saving the day. I don't remember the last time I had such a painful toothache. My wisdom teeth were definitely not helping. Thank you for taking me in last second…

What patients actually talk about

These are not testimonials we picked. Google groups the reviews by what patients actually wrote about and counts them — we chose neither the topics, nor the order, nor which ones show up.

Most were written in Spanish, by people who live here. The one worth reading closely is travel: seven patients wrote about the crossing itself. If you are coming from San Diego, that is the part you want to hear from someone who already made the trip — not from us.

Every review gets an answer

The most useful part of a review section is not the praise. It is the replies — because how a practice behaves when someone is unhappy is what you are actually buying.

Scroll that profile and you will notice something. The practice answers its reviews, and not a handful of them: the replies run through the whole history, from four years ago to within the last few days. They also answer what the patient actually said, rather than repeating one sentence underneath every review.

Whether they read like someone who remembers the case is something you can judge in about a minute, without asking anyone’s permission. That is the entire reason this page points you there.

How to read a dental review

Specific beats enthusiastic

A review describing the actual problem, what was explained and how long it took is more informative than a superlative with no detail attached.

Look for what happened afterwards

The genuinely useful reviews are from patients who needed something adjusted later. How a practice behaves then is what you are really buying.

Independent platforms first

Reviews a practice cannot edit or select are the ones that carry information. The four excerpts above were chosen by us and you should weigh them accordingly — the 479 they were taken from were not.

The evidence we can show

Alongside what patients say, every case is documented with standardized photography and imaging at the start, at key stages and at completion.

A review tells you how the experience felt. A record tells you what was actually done. Both are worth having, and both can be asked for.

Frequently asked

What patients ask before they book. If yours is not here, the fastest answer is a call.

Because a testimonial published here has passed through us, and one published on Google has not. We could quote forty reviews accurately and you would still only have our word that they are representative. Four hundred and seventy-nine reviews with the full star distribution attached are a different kind of evidence, and it costs nothing to read them in the one place we do not control.

Publishing a patient’s words or images requires their explicit written consent, and collecting that properly takes longer than writing a page. The excerpts above are public reviews, quoted with attribution and linked to their source. Anything beyond that — a photograph, a full case story, a name attached to a treatment — waits until the patient has agreed to it in writing.

That depends entirely on whether a patient has consented to it, and consent for that cannot be assumed or arranged retroactively. It is a reasonable thing to ask about at a consultation.

Logistics and aftercare, more than clinical questions: how many trips, what happens if something needs adjusting after driving home, and how the timing works around the return wait. Each of those is answered in writing before treatment starts.

Uniform enthusiasm, no dates, stock photography, and no negative reviews anywhere. Every practice that has treated a meaningful number of patients has had a dissatisfied one, and a page suggesting otherwise has been curated rather than collected.

Which is why the star distribution near the top of this page shows the six one-star reviews instead of only the average.

The questions worth asking

If there is something you would want to hear from a previous patient, ask it directly instead. Questions about how a case was handled are answered here without the intermediary.
