Composite Dental Fillings
Small cavities deserve small dentistry — done well, in one visit.
A composite filling restores a cavity with tooth-colored resin bonded directly to the tooth: no metal, no gray shadow, and as much healthy tooth preserved as possible. Done at the right time, it is a one-visit fix that keeps a small problem from ever becoming a crown or a root canal.
The exam decides honestly which teeth actually need treatment. A stain is not a cavity, and a filling that is not needed is dentistry you should not be sold.
How a filling appointment goes
Diagnosis you can see
The cavity is shown to you on the image before anything is drilled. If a tooth can be managed with prevention instead, that is what you will hear.
Conservative removal, careful bonding
Only the decayed portion is removed under local anesthesia. The composite is bonded in layers, shaped to your anatomy and cured — one tooth, one visit.
Bite and polish
The filling is adjusted until your bite closes naturally, then polished so it feels like tooth, not like dental work.
How do I know if I really have a cavity?
You often do not — early cavities rarely hurt. That is why the diagnosis here is shown, not just announced: you see the image, you understand the reason, and small lesions that can be watched instead of drilled are watched instead of drilled.
Do you replace old metal fillings?
When they are failing — leaking, cracked or undermining the tooth — yes, and the replacement is tooth-colored. A metal filling that is old but sound is a different conversation: replacing it purely for looks is your call to make with complete information, never a push.

The tooth is numbed with local anesthesia and the appointment is routinely comfortable. Sensitivity for a few days afterwards can be normal and settles on its own.
Years — often many — depending on the size of the filling, your bite and your hygiene. Regular check-ups catch wear early, which is what extends the life of any restoration.
Yes. Past a certain size a filling weakens the tooth instead of protecting it, and an onlay or crown is the honest recommendation. Where that line sits is shown to you on the image.
Usually yes, and cross-border patients often prefer it. The plan groups the work sensibly so your trip count stays low.
Composite resin is the standard restorative material in modern dentistry, bonded and cured in place. No metal, no mercury.
