Hotels and Where to Stay

Practical Information

Where to Stay

Most treatments do not need an overnight stay. The ones that do have specific requirements, and proximity is only one of them.

Same-day trip

Most treatments. You cross in the morning and are home the same afternoon.

Worth staying over

Three situations, and proximity is only one of the things that matters.

Distance measured in minutes, not kilometres

After a surgical appointment the priority is the shortest possible journey back to a bed, and Zona Río is compact enough for that to mean walking.

Quiet over amenities

The first night after a procedure is the one worth optimizing for. A quiet room matters considerably more than what the hotel offers in its lobby.

Parking if you drove

If you crossed by vehicle, secure parking is the practical constraint. If you crossed on foot, it is irrelevant and proximity wins outright.

Where patients stay

These are the two the team recommends, with their actual addresses. We do not take a commission from any of them — the reason they are on this list is that patients keep coming back saying the stay was easy. The studio is at Torre Quatro, Frida Kahlo 10410, Zona Río, so anything in Zona Río is a short ride.

Hotel Lucerna Tijuana ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Address: Paseo de los Héroes 10902, Zona Río, Tijuana, B.C., 22320.

Hotel Lucerna is an excellent choice for patients visiting our dental studio, thanks to its convenient location and comfortable accommodations. Located directly across the street from our building, it allows you to reach your dental appointments in just a few steps, without worrying about transportation.

The hotel offers elegant rooms, an outdoor swimming pool, and three restaurants on-site, giving you convenient dining options throughout your stay. It also offers 24-hour room service, perfect for relaxing after a long dental appointment.

Its prime location in Zona Río places you close to restaurants, shopping, and other local conveniences.

Our recommendation: If you want comfort, convenience, and to stay just steps away from your dental appointments, Hotel Lucerna is an excellent option for your visit to Tijuana.

Hyatt Place Tijuana

Address: Blvd. Agua Caliente 10488, Col. Aviación, 22014 Tijuana, B.C.

On Agua Caliente rather than Zona Río, so a little further from the studio — but it is the familiar option for patients who would rather stay with a brand they already know from the US side.

Before you book

It is worth confirming the appointment before booking anything. Treatments occasionally need to be adjusted after the first records are reviewed, and a room booked around a plan that then changes is an avoidable expense.

Will I need to stay overnight?

For most treatments, no. A single restoration, a consultation, a whitening appointment or an orthodontic adjustment are all comfortably same-day trips. Staying over becomes reasonable when the appointment block is long enough that a same-day return would mean crossing at the worst hour, when surgery makes driving unwise, or when treatment is scheduled across two consecutive days to reduce the total number of trips. Whether it applies to your plan is answered when the plan is written, not left for you to guess at.

Should I book before or after confirming the appointment?

After, without exception. Plans are occasionally adjusted once the first records have been reviewed — a phase moves, an interval turns out to need more healing time, a laboratory stage lands differently. A room booked around a provisional schedule is money spent on a plan that has not been finalised. Once the appointment is confirmed in writing, the dates are firm enough to book against.

The studio is in Zona Rio

The business and financial district, which is where the professional practices, the corporate offices and the hotels are.

Frequently asked

Is Zona Río a convenient area to stay in?

It is the business and financial district, so the hotels there are oriented toward professional travelers, and the studio is within it. That combination is generally what a patient recovering from a procedure wants.

Occasionally, and usually for the return rather than the treatment. An appointment that would finish at the worst hour for the northbound queue can be more comfortable to sleep on and cross the following morning.

Yes, and for surgical appointments it is recommended. If sedation is involved you should not drive afterwards, and having someone with you resolves that without additional arrangements.

Planning an overnight stay

If your plan involves surgery or two consecutive days of treatment, mention it when the appointment is arranged. Recommendations are matched to the procedure and to how you are crossing.
