The Damon System is the low friction (pressure) orthodontic system of excellence. Its fundamental characteristic is the absence of ligatures to hold the wire inside the bracket, allowing free movement of the teeth towards the ideal position.

Treatment with other brackets often requires the removal of healthy teeth, and the use of auxiliary appliances to open space. This is often uncomfortable, time consuming and can result in a narrower arch with a less esthetic facial profile. DAMON smiles are wide, natural and are achieved using light forces that respect the natural anatomy of each patient.

The system is based on three fundamental components:

1. Passive self-ligating brackets that eliminate the need for elastic or metal ligation, resulting in tension-free treatment.

2. Lightweight, high-tech shape-memory archwires that move teeth faster and require fewer adjustments.

3. A new, clinically proven treatment style that sets teeth straight and improves facial esthetics normally without extractions.

Invisalign™ orthodontic treatment consists of a series of clear, invisible, removable aligners that are replaced every two weeks with a new set of aligners. Each aligner is made specifically for your teeth, and only for your teeth.

As you change aligners, your teeth will move, little by little, week by week, until they are aligned and in the final position prescribed by your dentist.

The placement of retainers has a single objective: to guarantee the stability of the results obtained during the active phase of orthodontics, which is when the appliance was used to carry out the movements.

Once the orthodontic appliance is removed from the mouth, the newly acquired positions still need to settle, and it is in this process that retainers play a crucial role.
There are 3 types of retainers that are generally used:

Hawley, fixed and removable.

Fixed retainers are thin sheets of wire that are cemented on the inside of the teeth from canine to canine, both in the upper and lower arches.
They are very esthetic – as they are placed on the inner side, no one will notice that you are wearing them – and very comfortable: they do not interfere with speech nor do they generate sores or small wounds due to friction.

Removable retainers are transparent splints made to fit the patient’s mouth.
They look very similar to Invisalign aligners, so they are highly esthetic, but not completely unnoticeable.

Hawley retainers are removable and are made of bendable wire and acrylic or plastic. The wire passes in front of the teeth and the acrylic is shaped to fit snugly in the mouth.
