Patients from California
For patients coming from further than San Diego, the plan at Makeover Dental Studio is built around fewer trips rather than shorter ones.
Appointments consolidated
Longer blocks in fewer visits. Where two procedures can safely share a day, they are scheduled to share a day.
Only the intervals that are real
Healing, integration and laboratory time cannot be compressed. Everything that can be is, and the plan distinguishes between the two.
Reviewed between trips
Progress is checked from photographs and messages, so the next visit is scheduled when there is treatment to do rather than something to inspect.
Getting here from further north
It depends on the treatment, and reducing that number is one of the things the plan is explicitly built to do. A single restoration may need two visits that can sometimes be arranged close together. Implant work divides into a surgical phase and a restorative phase separated by integration, which is biological time and cannot be shortened by scheduling. Full mouth cases run in phases with real intervals between them. What you should have before you commit is the number of trips written down, the reason for each, and which intervals are fixed by healing rather than by convenience.
For patients north of Orange County it frequently is, and there are two routes. Flying into San Diego and completing the journey by road is the familiar option. The pedestrian bridge connecting directly to the Tijuana airport terminal is the other, and for patients from northern California it can turn the border into a short walk rather than a queue. Which one suits you depends on where you are starting and how much you are carrying, and it is worth deciding before the first appointment is booked.
Coming from San Diego County?
The crossing is a short errand rather than a trip, and the page for it is more specific.
Staying overnight?
Worth considering for surgery, long appointment blocks and consecutive days.
Frequently asked
Can several procedures be done in one visit?
Frequently, where it is clinically sound. Combining treatments into a single longer appointment is standard for patients traveling a distance, and the limit is what is safe and comfortable in one sitting rather than what fits a schedule.
What about crossing back after treatment?
A valid passport or passport card is required to re-enter the United States. Appointment times are suggested with the northbound wait in mind, and if you are flying home, the timing is planned against your departure rather than against the clinic day.
What if something needs adjusting once I am home?
Photographs and a message resolve most of it. Where an adjustment genuinely needs a chair, it is folded into the next scheduled visit rather than requiring a journey of its own.

Tell us where you are traveling from and how much time you can commit at once. Both change how the phases are grouped, and both are easier to plan for before the first appointment than after it.
